Zelenskyy: Russia preparing new massive attack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a stark warning, stating that Russia is preparing for a new, massive assault on Ukraine. He urged citizens to pay close attention to air raid sirens in the coming days.

"Tonight and in the coming days, I ask you to take air raid sirens particularly seriously. The Russians have prepared for a new massive attack," Zelenskyy said in his evening address, posted on social media platform X.

This alert follows a series of Ukrainian strikes targeting locations deep within Russian territory using long-range drones. In retaliation, Russia has employed glide bombs against Ukraine. In the city of Zaporizhzhia, four people were killed and six injured by such an attack, according to the regional governor, Ivan Fedorov, who reported nine attacks on the city. There is concern that residents may be trapped under rubble in some of the affected buildings.

Earlier on Saturday, Russia also attacked the Dnipro region with long-range artillery and explosive drones, injuring at least nine people, as reported by Dnipro's governor for military affairs, Oleksandr Hansha.
