Zelenskyy: Ukraine to continue strikes into Russia despite stray drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy affirmed that Ukraine's counteroffensives into Russia will continue, even as Ukrainian drones have recently strayed into the airspace of Baltic nations and Finland. Speaking at a press conference in Tallinn alongside Estonian President Alar Karis, Zelenskyy addressed concerns about the errant drones.

When asked if Ukraine would take steps to prevent its drones from deviating into Baltic airspace, Zelenskyy suggested that Russian electronic warfare tactics might be responsible for diverting them. "They (the Russians) can pull our drones off course using electronic warfare," he stated. He also indicated that Ukraine is open to sharing its expertise with European partners as part of a solution, though he did not provide specific details.

Zelenskyy is in Tallinn to attend a summit of the Nordic and Baltic states (NB8), a forum focused on Ukraine, European security, defense industrial cooperation, and the use of artificial intelligence. He met with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo prior to the summit, discussing the strengthening of air defense. He was also scheduled to meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Estonian President Karis.

The summit includes the prime ministers of the NB8 countries, who are expected to hold a joint press conference with Zelenskyy later in the day. The discussions are crucial for coordinating security efforts and reinforcing support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.
