Zenith Bank Equips Nigeria’s Students for the Digital Age

For some Nigerian students, the moment a computer becomes a tool for possibility remains surprisingly difficult to reach. They may have textbooks but no computer, or attend universities that plan computer-based examinations without enough workstations.

These gaps can look ordinary, but they influence who can participate fully in the digital economy and who is left trying to catch up. Zenith Bank Plc has responded with investments in educational technology, infrastructure and youth development that go beyond conventional corporate philanthropy.

In Agbor, Delta State, the bank provided the University of Delta with a purpose-built ICT Centre. The facility includes 204 computer workstations, a server room, a media room, a reception area, a water treatment plant, inverter and panel rooms, a 250KVA generator, a 200KVA transformer and a large LED display screen.

In Ijanikin, Lagos State, Zenith Bank focused on the power challenge at the ICT Centre of the Lagos State University of Education. It provided a 30kW solar hybrid system, linking digital education to more dependable energy.

The University of Delta centre offers a 204-capacity IT hall with fully equipped workstations and accessories, alongside facilities designed to support the institution’s growing digital needs. For students, the centre offers a chance to move beyond hearing about digital technology and begin using it in practice.
