Ziga Samar is San Pablo Burgos' first signing for the 2026/2027 season

San Pablo Burgos has secured its first signing for the 2026/2027 Liga Endesa season, announcing the addition of Slovenian point guard Ziga Samar. The 1.97-meter player, who holds a homegrown player license, brings a wealth of experience from Spain's top basketball division.

Samar's career includes two seasons with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and the last two with Dreamland Gran Canaria. He has established himself as a regular in the Spanish league and is also a consistent member of the Slovenian national team. His development began in the youth ranks of Union Olimpija Ljubljana before he moved to Spain in 2017 to join Real Madrid's academy.

After his time at Real Madrid, Samar played a season in LEB Plata with CB Zamora, followed by his ACB debut with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada from 2020 to 2022. His career then took him to Germany, where he played for Hamburg Towers and Alba Berlin. In January 2025, he was loaned to Dreamland Gran Canaria, where he has spent the last two seasons.

With Samar's signing, San Pablo Burgos aims to build a competitive project for the 2026/27 season, acquiring a young player who is familiar with Spanish basketball and possesses international experience.
