Zócalo Fan Fest Full for World Cup Final; City Offers More Viewing Locations

Mexico City's Zócalo FIFA Fan Fest reached full capacity shortly after the World Cup final match between Argentina and Spain kicked off on Sunday. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported the overcrowding and advised citizens to seek out other official fan festivals to watch the game.

Earlier in the day, large crowds gathered, with many fans sporting Mexican national team jerseys, hoping to gain entry to the Plaza de la Constitución to view the championship match. The SSC's announcement indicates a significant turnout for the event.

For those unable to access the Zócalo, the Mexico City government has set up several other fan festivals throughout the city. These include locations in Álvaro Obregón (Parque La Bombilla), Azcapotzalco (Parque Tezozomoc), GAM (Campos Revolución), Iztapalapa (Utopía Meyehualco), Magdalena Contreras (Unidad Independencia), Tlalpan (Deportivo Vivanco), and Xochimilco (Deportivo Xochimilco). These venues remain open for fans to enjoy the final.
