1,545 elementary students in Nagan Raya celebrate Indonesia's 81st Independence Day with carnival

More than 1,500 elementary and Islamic elementary students in Nagan Raya, Aceh, marched in a carnival to celebrate Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. The event involved 24 educational institutions and was designed to instill nationalism and patriotism in the younger generation.

Hizbulwatan, the acting regional secretary, stated the parade was more than a celebration; it was a way to strengthen unity, togetherness, and pride as Indonesian children. He emphasized that the youth have a crucial role in contributing to the nation's progress through learning, creating, and achieving.

"As the next generation, our duty is to fill independence by learning, creating, achieving, respecting parents and teachers, maintaining unity, and being a generation with good morals and beneficial to the nation and region," Hizbulwatan said. He urged participants to build positive character from an early age and not let differences divide them.

The Nagan Raya Regency government expressed appreciation for the school principals and teachers who prepared the students.
