1.91m PVCs collected in Osun ahead of election - INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected by registered voters in Osun State. This accounts for 81.50% of the total 2,339,233 registered voters in the state. The remaining 426,842 PVCs, representing 18.50%, have been securely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria, following the commission's standard practice.

Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.

INEC also noted that 6,101 individuals who applied for replacements of damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs have printed downloadable copies of their cards. The commission has published a detailed, polling-unit-by-polling-unit table of collected PVCs on its official website.

The remaining 426,842 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria in line with the Commission’s established practice.

With the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, INEC has reassured political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and the residents of Osun State of its full readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election. The commission emphasized its commitment to ensuring a smooth electoral process.
