10,000 Households in Flemish Ardennes Lose Power After Substation Failure

Thousands of homes in the Flemish Ardennes are experiencing a significant power outage, leaving around 10,000 households without electricity. The disruption began around 10:30 AM, affecting residents in Oudenaarde and several neighboring municipalities.

The cause of the widespread outage has been identified as a failure at an Elia high-voltage substation. This critical infrastructure failure has disrupted the power supply across the affected areas. Fluvius, the local energy distributor, is actively working to address the problem and restore electricity.
