105-64: Stewart leads the United States back to form

Breanna Stewart delivered her strongest performance of the 2026 World Cup so far as the United States beat the Czech Republic 105-64 in Berlin.

Stewart finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a performance rating of 31. Napheesa Collier and Jackie Young also contributed as the United States responded to its uneasy game against Italy with much sharper shooting, making 52% of its attempts compared with 28% in the previous match.

Stewart scored nine points in the opening 10 minutes, helping the United States establish a 29-15 lead. The Czech Republic stayed within reach until the middle of the second quarter, when the Americans produced a 16-5 run and moved more than 20 points ahead. Five straight points from Angel Reese and a Paige Bueckers layup sent the teams into halftime with the United States leading 57-33.

After the Italy game, the American team had emphasized improving its play inside the three-point line, particularly mid-range shooting and cuts into the lane. Stewart remained central to that approach, making seven of 10 two-point attempts as the lead reached 65-43.

Clark, Bueckers and Reese took over much of the third quarter with quick ball movement and repeated attacks near the basket. Late additions Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen also made an impact in the final period. Caitlin Clark returned to the court and hit one of her trademark three-pointers from beyond 6.75 meters as the score reached 99-58. The final minutes became an exchange of baskets, ending with the United States ahead 105-64.
