12-Year-Old's Quick Thinking Provides First Aid to Accident Victim

A 12-year-old boy demonstrated remarkable courage and responsibility by providing immediate first aid to a driver injured in a car accident. The incident occurred on Sunday evening on the road between Nemški Rovt and Soriška planina.

According to the Kranj Police Administration, a 24-year-old driver lost control of his car on a blind left turn, hitting a tree and sliding down an embankment. The vehicle ended up overturned on its side. The driver, who tested positive for alcohol, and his passenger sustained minor injuries.

His quick reaction, composure, and willingness to help significantly contributed to the injured person receiving assistance in the very first moments after the accident.

Before emergency services arrived, the young boy, Lan, who was nearby with his family, retrieved a first aid kit from his own car. He skillfully attended to the injured driver's bleeding wound and directed his mother to call the emergency number 112, which she promptly did.

Roland Brajič of the Kranj Police Administration praised Lan's swift reaction and presence of mind. "His quick reaction, composure, and willingness to help significantly contributed to the injured person receiving assistance in the very first moments after the accident," Brajič stated. Police officials have contacted Lan's family to personally thank him for his bravery and responsible actions, calling him an excellent example for young people.
