18-Year-Old Charged with Aggravated Homicide, Placed Under House Arrest

A young woman of 18 has been formally charged with aggravated homicide in the death of a 30-year-old man, with whom she had a close relationship. The incident occurred in a public square in the Salto Nuevo neighborhood of Salto, a densely populated area of the city.

The victim was discovered in the early morning hours of August 6, lying in the Plaza "Benito de Paula" with substantial bleeding. Police were alerted by neighbors who found the man unresponsive. An ambulance removed the body, and an investigation was launched.

Following inquiries, police apprehended the 18-year-old woman on the evening of August 7. She was reportedly with the victim in the plaza shortly before the incident and fled the scene afterward. Judicial authorities in Salto formally charged her with aggravated homicide. The presiding judge ordered her to serve a total of 180 days under house arrest, equipped with an electronic monitoring device, as a precautionary measure while the investigation proceeds.
