190 Venezuelan Migrants Repatriated from US Arrive in Venezuela

Venezuela welcomed back 190 of its citizens on Monday, who arrived on a repatriation flight from Arizona, United States. This operation is part of the "Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria" (Great Mission Return to the Homeland), a state-run program designed to facilitate the migratory return of Venezuelans. The flight, operated by Eastern Airlines, landed at the Simón Bolívar International Airport serving Caracas, marking another step in the government's efforts to bring its nationals home.

The Ministry of Interior and Justice reported that the group comprised 136 men, 26 women, 15 boys, 10 girls, and 3 infants. Special arrangements were made for their reception to ensure a "comfortable" arrival process. This initiative underscores the Venezuelan government's commitment to assisting its citizens abroad, framing their return as a "reencuentro con el hogar y la familia" (reunion with home and family).

This particular flight is the 132nd since Venezuela and the United States signed a migration agreement for repatriations in January of the previous year. The process has continued even amidst tensions between the two nations. According to official figures, over 20,000 migrants have returned to Venezuela through repatriation flights since February 2025, highlighting the significant scale of this ongoing migratory movement facilitated by the Venezuelan government.
