Hannover 96, a club competing in Germany's second football division, has secured the services of defender Karl Steinmann on loan from SC Freiburg for the upcoming season.

The 20-year-old player is anticipated to fill a gap on Hannover's right defensive side and is expected to intensify the competition for starting positions. Ralf Becker, Hannover's sporting director, expressed optimism about the signing, noting Steinmann's potential and his desire to advance his career. "He has great potential, wants to prove himself with us, take the next step in his career, and will certainly increase the competition on the wing positions," Becker stated.

Steinmann has a long-standing connection with SC Freiburg, having joined their football academy at the age of ten in 2016. This summer, he was officially integrated into the senior squad. During the previous season, he was part of the professional team's roster multiple times for both the Europa League and Bundesliga matches, gaining valuable experience at the top level.
