20 Teams Vie for NT$600,000 Prize in Tainan's 72-Hour Film Challenge

The "2026 Annei Film Studio: Limited Time Image Creation Competition" has officially kicked off at the Annei Film and Television Base in Tainan, Taiwan. Twenty teams are set to embark on a challenging 72-hour race to produce short films, vying for a grand prize of NT$600,000.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Huang Ya-ling, Director of the Tainan City Cultural Affairs Bureau, with the participation of the selected teams and mentor judges. The competition requires teams to submit a short film of at least six minutes by 11 a.m. on the 26th.

The submitted works cover diverse genres such as drama, documentary, advertising, and experimental film, and the creators have shown rich imagination, making the selection process full of surprises.

Prior to the main event, a mentor workshop provided teams with one-on-one guidance on script content, filming plans, location usage, and execution details. Mentor judge Lu Po-hsun noted the diverse genres submitted, including drama, documentary, advertising, and experimental film, highlighting the creators' rich imagination.

Director Huang Ya-ling encouraged the young creators to challenge themselves and to make full use of the Annei Film and Television Base's historical settings and Tainan's urban charm. Residents are also invited to support the filming teams, identifiable by their black bucket hats, as they capture scenes in Tainan's streets and alleys from the 24th to the 26th.
