Tainan Names Labor Model Fathers; 99-Year-Old Chen Cheng-chang is Oldest Honoree

Tainan City has announced its 20 recipients of the Labor Model Father award, recognizing fathers who have excelled in both their professional lives and family responsibilities. The honorees range in age, with 99-year-old Chen Cheng-chang being the eldest.

An awards ceremony is scheduled for August 1st at the TAWAN Tainan Sha Hua Beer Factory's second-floor auditorium. The event will celebrate the achievements of these fathers, highlighting their dedication and the values they instill in their families and communities.

Chen Cheng-chang, the oldest recipient at 99, dedicated 45 years to the media industry. He is also recognized for his role as a steadfast pillar of his family, emphasizing moral education and fostering a positive outlook and social values in his children. Another honoree, 69-year-old Kuo Jui-ming, has worked as a plumber for over 47 years. For the past 12 years, he has volunteered with the Tainan City "Working for Good" group, repairing homes for disadvantaged families across the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan regions.

Wang Hsin-chi, Director of Tainan City's Labor Affairs Bureau, praised the awardees, calling them the "coolest father figures in Tainan." He stated that each Labor Model Father serves as a pillar of their family and a stabilizing force for societal progress. Their diligence in their professions, combined with their quiet contributions to family education and social welfare, radiates warmth.

The Labor Affairs Bureau organizes this award to share the stories of these 20 model fathers, hoping to pass on the values of diligent work and selfless public service to future generations. The list of awardees also includes Zhuang Qiu-xiang, Xu Rong-lin, Fu Yu-hsien, Wu Zhen-xian, Yang Jun-liang, Li Tai-yi, Yang Tian-lai, Tang Ming-ji, Chen Ying-tsung, Qiu Da-yuan, Chen Jun-qu, Wang Jin-shui, Kang Shi-wen, Wu Jian-xiong, Chen Zhi-xiong, Ye Qun-ying, Yan Ying-shi, and Wu Yuan-rong.
