200,000 buyers get homes as Malaysia revives 1,647 abandoned housing projects

Malaysia has made significant strides in tackling the issue of abandoned housing projects, with 1,647 such developments revived since December 2022. These projects represent a gross development value exceeding RM150 billion, underscoring the scale of the problem previously faced.

The successful revival of these projects has brought relief to around 200,000 homebuyers who had been waiting for their homes for an extended period. The Ministry of Housing and Local Government, led by Minister Nga Kor Ming, highlighted this achievement as a result of the dedicated efforts of a special task force within the ministry.

This initiative aims to resolve long-standing housing issues and provide much-needed homes to affected buyers. The ministry's proactive approach through the task force has been instrumental in navigating the complexities associated with reviving stalled developments and ensuring buyers can finally occupy their properties.
