2027: Accord Party chair withdraws from presidential race to back Tinubu

Professor Christopher Imumolen, the factional National Chairman of Nigeria's Accord Party, has withdrawn his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid. Imumolen stated that his decision prioritizes Nigeria's national progress, unity, and political stability over his personal political aspirations.

In a statement released in Abuja, Imumolen explained that his choice followed consultations with his faction's leadership. He believes that Nigeria's need for continuity in reforms and a stable political environment outweighs his personal ambition.
