2027 Elections: Police, experts to address emerging security threats at Owerri conference

Lenders Consult International is deepening its partnership with the Nigeria Police Force to bolster electoral security management ahead of the 2027 general elections. The company, alongside the police, is organizing a strategic conference aimed at creating a robust roadmap for managing security during the upcoming polls.

The three-day conference, scheduled for September 21-23 in Owerri, Imo State, will bring together senior police officers, security experts, and other stakeholders. The central theme is "Developing a Nigerian Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections." Discussions will explore contemporary policing approaches, including intelligence-led operations, community partnerships, and the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

Shina Philips, Managing Director and CEO of Lenders Consult International, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting the police, who are the lead internal security agency. He highlighted that this collaboration, which began in 2019, aligns with the Inspector-General of Police's view on the force's critical role in maintaining the stability of the electoral process.
