2027: Falana and Obe demand strict compliance with electoral rules

Nigeria’s 2027 general elections may not be credible if the flaws seen in earlier electoral exercises continue, lawyers Femi Falana and Ayo Obe warned.

The two made the assessment on Thursday at an event marking the 25th anniversary of an organization whose name was not included in the available text. They called for strict adherence to the rules governing the vote.

Their warning focused on vote buying and intimidation, which they said could undermine the polls. Falana is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, while Obe is a human rights lawyer.
