2027: Gov Adeleke reaffirms support for Tinubu’s re-election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has publicly reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu's pursuit of a second term in the 2027 presidential election. Adeleke made this declaration on Sunday during his victory speech following his re-election as governor.

Adeleke expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for his "strong support for a free and fair election" in Osun State. He referred to Tinubu as "a son of Osun State" and used the occasion to renew his earlier endorsement of the President for a second term in 2027.

At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strong support for a free and fair election.

The governor's renewed endorsement comes after he secured re-election by defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner after he garnered 511,067 votes, compared to Oyebamiji's 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, trailed in third place with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke also mentioned that President Tinubu had called him to congratulate him on his victory before the official announcement of the final results by INEC.
