Nigerians, not former President Olusegun Obasanjo, will determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) declared Monday. The opposition party accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using attacks on its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as a tactic to avoid accountability for President Bola Tinubu's performance on the economy and security.

This stance comes after the Catholic Bishops recently criticized the nation's state during a meeting with President Tinubu. The ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the APC has become increasingly desperate, choosing to amplify Obasanjo's remarks about Abubakar while attacking those questioning the government's record.
