2027: No rigging will succeed in Abia, says Labour Party candidate

China Anyaso, a Labour Party candidate for the Bende Federal Constituency in Nigeria's upcoming 2027 general election, has vowed to prevent electoral rigging in Abia State. Speaking at a stakeholders' meeting, Anyaso, representing Governor Alex Otti's administration, assured that robust security measures would be in place to safeguard voters and their ballots.

I’m speaking on behalf of Governor Alex Otti that there will be no rigging of elections anywhere in Abia State come the 2027 general election. Anybody, like the governor said, that is planning to write the election should go and write his will first. There will be no writing of election results in Abia State.

Beyond electoral promises, Anyaso highlighted his extensive experience in business and community service. With over two decades in the oil and gas, real estate, and hospitality sectors, he boasts a track record of successful transactions. He also detailed his philanthropic efforts, including funding a nursery and primary school and providing free education to over 500 children since 2008.

Addressing political dynamics, Anyaso referenced a 2019 agreement for the Bende Federal Constituency seat to rotate between the Bende North and Bende South political blocs. He argued for the seat's return to the Bende North bloc based on fairness and equity, drawing a parallel with the expectation for President Bola Tinubu to complete two terms before power rotation. Anyaso dismissed allegations linking him to budget controversies, attributing his aspirations to destiny.
