2027: Tinubu’s future bright in Osun, says Orji Kalu

Orji Kalu, a former governor of Abia State and current senator, has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political future in Osun State remains "very bright" despite a recent election loss for the ruling party.

Kalu stated that Tinubu can expect strong backing from various political factions in Osun, including members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Accord Party. His comments followed President Tinubu's congratulatory message to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election.

I join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as the Governor of Osun State. I also sympathise with the APC leadership, our party’s governorship candidate and all our supporters over the outcome of the election.

While congratulating Adeleke, Kalu offered sympathy to the APC leadership, stakeholders, and the party's governorship candidate for the election's outcome. He also praised former Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his contributions to the state's development.

"What happened in Osun is democracy in play," Kalu said, adding that election results represent the people's choice and that the APC must "come back stronger." He stressed that the result should not be interpreted as a setback for Tinubu, whose political prospects in Osun remain robust ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Kalu urged leaders and supporters to remain committed to the democratic process and work towards Nigeria's progress and unity.
