Senator Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari has been appointed Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, a move lauded by former National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi. Shinkafi asserts that Yari is the ideal candidate to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming election.

Yari's political career, which began in Zamfara State, has spanned various levels of leadership, including the House of Representatives, governorship, and now the Senate. Shinkafi recalled Yari's early successes, such as leading the 2003 campaign that re-elected former governor Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura and later serving as the party's National Treasurer. Beyond electoral campaigns, Yari played a significant role in the formation of the APC. As governor of Zamfara, he was instrumental in establishing the party in the state while it was still in opposition. Shinkafi believes Yari's extensive network, including relationships with traditional institutions, women's and youth groups across the country, will be vital for the 2027 campaign. Shinkafi urged APC members and stakeholders to fully support the campaign council, expressing confidence in Yari's ability to provide "disciplined, focused leadership" for Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima's second term bid.
