22nd Lin Rong San Literary Awards deadline approaches

Aspiring writers in Taiwan have just six days left to submit their entries for the prestigious 22nd Lin Rong San Literary Awards. The deadline for submissions is July 31, with organizers urging potential participants to seize the final weekend to unleash their creative potential.

Organized by the Lin Rong San Cultural Public Welfare Foundation and co-organized by Liberty Times, the awards aim to foster literary talent and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Taiwanese literature. The competition is open to all citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

This year's awards feature several categories, including Short Story, Essay, Poetry, and Short Prose, each offering significant cash prizes and awards. The Short Story award boasts a first prize of NT$600,000, while the Essay, Poetry, and Short Prose categories also offer substantial rewards. The foundation emphasizes that all submissions must be original works written in Chinese and must not have been previously published in any form, including online platforms or personal blogs. Plagiarism, including AI-generated content, will result in disqualification.

Submissions can be made via handwritten or printed manuscripts. Detailed instructions regarding word counts, line counts for poetry, and submission procedures are available on the foundation's website. The judging process will involve multiple stages, with preliminary results announced on October 23, followed by a grand awards ceremony to reveal the top prizes.
