24-year-old man shot dead during gathering in Lima; cameras capture attack

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed during a public gathering in the Independencia district of Lima, Peru. Fredy Molina Alcántara was fatally wounded on Saturday evening while attending a "pollada" – a fundraising event often involving chicken sales – held outside a home on Avenida 15 de Julio.

Security camera footage captured the attack, showing two individuals on a motorcycle approaching the group. One of the assailants, wearing a white helmet, dismounted and fired at least five shots at the attendees before fleeing with his accomplice. The shooting caused panic among those present.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Molina Alcántara lying on the ground with no vital signs. Authorities cordoned off the area for forensic examination and evidence collection to determine the motive behind the crime and identify the responsible parties. The attackers escaped on their motorcycle and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Law enforcement is currently reviewing the security footage to aid in the identification and apprehension of the suspects. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the circumstances and motive leading to this fatal shooting.
