25th Summer Camp for Guides, Senior Guides launched in Dhofar

The 25th Summer Camp for Guides and Senior Guides has officially launched in the Ashor Mountain plain of Dhofar Governorate, Oman. Organized by the Ministry of Education through its Directorate General of Scouts, Guides and Student Activities, the event runs until August 7 under the theme "Our Future Lies in Our Values."

More than 350 guides and senior guides from across Oman are participating in the camp. The program features a wide array of activities, including training workshops, scientific and sightseeing excursions, and sports and cultural events. A special segment titled "National Day: My Heritage is My Identity" is also planned.

The camp provides participants with a hands-on opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Dhofar Governorate. This focus on local exploration aims to boost domestic tourism and instill a sense of environmental stewardship through direct engagement with the region's diverse nature and terrain.

Organizers intend for the camp to refine the personal and physical skills of the guides, enhance their leadership capabilities, and stimulate innovation and teamwork. The initiative also seeks to cultivate a spirit of adventure and prepare the young participants for active community service.
