3 charged after OPP seizes fentanyl, cocaine in drug probe

An investigation into alleged drug trafficking in Peterborough and Northumberland counties has resulted in three arrests and significant drug seizures. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation, which began in May, targeted alleged drug distribution networks in Toronto and Curve Lake.

Officers executed search warrants at multiple locations, seizing approximately 610 grams of suspected fentanyl and 415 grams of suspected cocaine from Toronto residences. They also discovered 19,450 suspected opioid tablets and about $52,000 in cash. Further searches in Curve Lake yielded an additional 320 grams of suspected fentanyl and approximately $15,000 in cash.

In total, police estimate the street value of the seized drugs to be over $231,000. Along with the narcotics, investigators confiscated a vehicle, a shotgun, cellphones, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. The three accused individuals have been charged with multiple offenses, including possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. They have appeared in an Ontario Court of Justice.
