3-year-old boy dies after pit bull attack in Córdoba

A tragic incident has occurred in Córdoba, Argentina, where a 3-year-old boy lost his life following an attack by a neighbor's pit bull. Local police reported that the child succumbed to severe injuries to his face and neck.

The attack took place on a Sunday afternoon in the Suárez neighborhood of Córdoba city. According to the victim's father, who spoke with authorities, the assault happened while he and his son were in the area of José Baca and La Santa María streets. The child was rushed to Clínica Vélez Sarsfield after the dog's attack, but medical professionals confirmed his death.

This heartbreaking event marks the second fatal dog attack on a child in the province in the last three months. In May, a 4-year-old girl died from injuries sustained in an attack by a mixed-breed dog in Cosquín. Similar to the current case, the girl suffered critical wounds to her neck.

Forensic experts conducted an autopsy, determining the cause of death was "hypovolemic shock resulting from a penetrating blunt trauma to the neck, with rupture of the left carotid artery." The examination also revealed 14 deep lacerations on the neck and head, along with 18 abrasions.
