32 Fishermen Rescued from Rough Seas; Search Continues for Missing

A large-scale search and rescue operation has successfully located and rescued 32 fishermen from Da Nang after their vessel, QNa-90859 TS, lost contact amidst rough seas. The fishermen, found in a state of extreme weakness, are currently receiving specialized medical care. The operation was initiated after authorities received a report on August 26th that the fishing boat, carrying 50 crew members, had gone missing.

The vessel, captained by Huỳnh Văn Trí, had departed from An Hòa port on July 29th for a fishing expedition. Its last known position was recorded on August 25th in waters approximately 17.6 nautical miles within Vietnamese waters, near the maritime boundary. At the time, the area was experiencing Force 5-6 southwest winds, indicating dangerous sea conditions that posed a significant risk to the vessel and its crew.

Upon receiving the distress information, the Da Nang City People's Committee immediately directed the Border Guard Command and local authorities to monitor the situation and coordinate with nearby vessels to assist in the search. Information was disseminated to multiple maritime search and rescue centers and provincial border guard commands to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated effort.

Despite the challenging conditions, rescue forces managed to locate 32 of the fishermen on August 28th. While the rescue is a significant success, the search continues for the remaining 18 individuals who were on board. The health of the rescued fishermen is a primary concern, and medical teams are providing them with critical care. Authorities remain committed to finding any other survivors.
