33,000 Liters of Illicit Fuel Seized in Veracruz; No Arrests Made

Federal authorities have confiscated an estimated 33,250 liters of illicitly obtained fuel, commonly referred to as "huachicol," in the municipality of Río Blanco, Veracruz. The seizure was the result of a search warrant executed by the Attorney General's Office (FGR), following a judicial order related to potential violations of the Federal Law to Prevent and Punish Crimes Committed in Hydrocarbon Matters.

The operation involved a coordinated effort by state and federal police, supported by security personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) and the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena). In addition to the vast quantity of fuel, authorities also seized a tank trailer, a tractor truck, a scooter, and two motorcycles. The confiscated items have been handed over to the Public Ministry for further investigation.

While the operation successfully removed a significant amount of illegal fuel and related vehicles, no arrests were made at the location. The FGR is continuing its investigation to assign responsibility for the illicit activity. This seizure in Veracruz follows a separate case in Puebla, where an individual was sentenced to 10 years in prison for illegal possession of hydrocarbons.
