5 de Oro draw moved to Thursday, jackpots climb to $54.3 million

Uruguay's popular 5 de Oro lottery will have its next drawing on Thursday, August 27, 2026, a day later than usual due to the Independence Day holiday on August 25. The draw is scheduled for 10 PM and will be broadcast on El País's Facebook page, Canal 12, and La Banca's YouTube channel.

The main 5 de Oro jackpot stands at $16.8 million, while the "Revancha" (rematch) pool has reached $37.5 million. Combined, the lottery is expected to distribute approximately $54.3 million, according to the National Directorate of Lotteries and Casinos.

This schedule adjustment is a common practice when a holiday falls on a drawing day or between two scheduled draws. The last drawing on Sunday did not yield any winners for the main jackpot, the Revancha pool, or the "Pozo de Plata" (silver pool).

To play, participants choose five numbers between 1 and 48. A $50 bet covers the main 5 de Oro draw, while an additional $20 includes the Revancha draw with the same numbers. Bets can be placed at authorized agencies until 8 PM on the day of the draw. Phone betting is available until 8 PM for $77, including service fees and VAT, for both draws. Online play via La Banca's website or mobile app is open until 9 PM on the drawing day.
