8th 'Vayus' Festival in Lithuania Features 12 Hours of Dancing with International Artists

Palanga, Lithuania, hosted the eighth edition of the "Vayus" electronic music festival, offering attendees 12 hours of continuous dancing. This year's event featured a lineup of international artists, including house music legend Marcellus Pittman from Detroit, BBC Radio 1 resident Paula Tape from Chile, and David Moufang (Move D) from Heidelberg, Germany, who returned to the Baltic region after a break.

Albertas Martinaitis, the festival's founder and organizer, highlighted that the inclusion of these international performers is the result of several years of dedicated effort. He noted that artists like Pittman, Tape, and Moufang are highly respected within the industry and play at major European festivals and underground venues. For "Vayus," they performed in a unique daytime dance format, which Martinaitis described as an intimate setting that appealed to the artists.

VAYUS has always been about quality. This year we had three prominent foreign names whose work is not only respected by the industry but also shapes how electronic music sounds today.

Alongside the international stars, renowned Lithuanian house music DJs contributed to the festival's atmosphere. This year, all Lithuanian artists performed in curated B2B collaborations, including Cport Cistema x Hades, Oyster x Less Feeling, Lover Live, and Tušas (Mountak x Elboe x Une).

When we started organizing VAYUS eight years ago, we didn't think about numbers or growth. We sought to loyally develop the direction of our musical identity and thought about the fact that our hometown, Palanga, lacks a cozy celebration where electronic music would be heard during daylight hours.

Martinaitis recalled that when "Vayus" began eight years ago, the focus was not on numbers or growth but on developing a distinct musical identity and creating a cozy celebration in their hometown of Palanga. They aimed to showcase a quality, stylish side of the city and introduce the daytime dance format, promoting the idea that enjoyable experiences can happen during the day and in nature.

He believes that dancing outdoors during the day creates a different energy and connection, making people more attentive, courageous, and open to their surroundings and fellow attendees. "Vayus" is designed as an open, tolerant, joyful, positive, and bright experience, which encourages people to return annually. This year's record-breaking ticket sales, sold in a remarkably short time, are seen as a significant validation of the team's efforts and the festival's meaningful impact.
