93 players to vie for spots in Netball Fiji trials

Netball Fiji is set to hold its national trials this Saturday, with the event taking place at the Fiji National University gym in Nasinu. The trials are scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are a crucial step in selecting the national squad.

The purpose of these trials is to identify the best players for the upcoming inaugural Spirit Series. This international tournament is slated to be held in Sydney next month, from July 8th to 11th. Pearls coach Michelle Parsons will be looking to assemble a strong team to represent Fiji.

The Spirit Series promises to be a competitive and meaningful event, featuring Fiji alongside other strong netball nations. Competitors will include the Black Swans (Australia), Papua New Guinea, and Singapore. The tournament will be hosted at Netball Central, providing a significant platform for international competition.

Notable inclusions in the trial list feature both current and former national representatives. Additionally, the trials will provide an opportunity for emerging talent, such as Adi Cakobau School's Yalanieta Diloi, who recently participated in the Schools Swimming Championship. Even Bria, daughter of former All Blacks 7s representative and current commentator Karl Te Nana, who hails from Auckland, is among the players named by Netball Fiji.
