A new six-lane road will appear in Almaty - project map

Almaty is set to undergo a significant infrastructure upgrade with plans to construct 17.5 kilometers of new roads. A key component of this project is a new six-lane thoroughfare, measuring 50 meters in width and stretching 4.6 kilometers. This new road will connect Bukhtarminskaya Street and Ryskulov Avenue, significantly enhancing the city's transport network.

The Almaty Akimat, the city's administration, emphasizes the strategic importance of this new transport link. It is considered essential for the future connection with the BAKAD (Big Almaty Ring Road), which is expected to dramatically improve transport accessibility. The project aims to boost connectivity both within Almaty and with surrounding settlements in the wider Almaty agglomeration.

To facilitate this ambitious construction, the state will need to acquire roughly 200 private land plots. A decree has already been enacted to this effect, and notifications have been issued to the affected property owners. The development signifies a major step towards modernizing Almaty's infrastructure and improving the flow of traffic and goods.
