Ab Ghani asks FAM affiliates to make their own choice

Ab Ghani Hassan says he wants Football Association of Malaysia affiliates to assess the candidates and make their own choice before the election.

The Malaysian Football League president is seeking the FAM presidency for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term. If entrusted with the role, he said he would bring “a more open, professional and collaborative approach.”

Ab Ghani said a new FAM leadership team should listen to everyone in the national football ecosystem before seeking solutions. He identified governance, football development and competition management as areas that still require improvement, while stressing that the interests of all stakeholders should receive attention.

He said his candidacy was not about holding a position, but about accepting a major responsibility and using his experience to help Malaysian football. He also said he respected the election process and all candidates who had come forward.
