Abducted Erhan Karaal found in abandoned factory, severely beaten; 8 suspects detained

Erhan Karaal, deputy general manager of Istanbul Municipality's Kültür A.Ş., who was a defendant in the ongoing İBB Case, has been found after being abducted near his home in Maltepe.

Karaal was reportedly attacked and abducted by unidentified individuals who emerged from a vehicle as he was walking with his children. The Kartal Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had instructed law enforcement to apprehend the suspects.

This morning, police located Karaal and he was taken to the hospital. The Kartal Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that eight suspects have been taken into custody as part of the investigation. The statement confirmed Karaal's recovery and the detention of suspects, emphasizing that the investigation is proceeding meticulously.

According to Karaal's lawyer, Tayfun Taşlıoğlu, Karaal was found tied up in an abandoned factory building in Tuzla. He had been beaten severely, described as "beaten to death." Doctors have informed the family that Karaal's life is not in danger, and his treatment is ongoing.
