Abia Governor Otti Approves Medical Support for Actress Ngozi Nwosu

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has approved medical assistance for ailing Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu, who had publicly appealed for ₦30 million to cover surgeries for an undisclosed illness. The 62-year-old actress had previously shared that she had spent three weeks in the hospital and urged Nigerians to help her survive.

Justice “JMartins” Martins, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Tourism and Entertainment, announced the intervention on his X page Tuesday night. He expressed gratitude to Governor Otti on behalf of the creative industry and reiterated the appeal for continued public support.

This intervention comes years after Nwosu battled kidney and heart-related issues in 2013, for which she traveled to the UK for surgery after receiving financial aid from the Lagos State Government and public donations. Nwosu, known for her role in "Fuji House of Commotion" and a career spanning decades with over 100 film credits, is a respected veteran actress in the Nigerian film industry.
