Abia LP chieftains reaffirm support for Otti, set up strategic committees

Chieftains of the Labour Party in Abia State's Nsulu region have solidified their backing for Governor Alex Otti, establishing three strategic committees to fortify the party's position ahead of the 2027 general elections. This move follows extensive deliberations and aims to enhance party unity and outreach.

The stakeholders issued a communiqué praising Governor Otti's administration for significant transformations across Abia. They specifically highlighted key projects in Nsulu, including the Abia International Airport, the Umuomaiukwu Smart School, and various road infrastructure developments. The party emphasized equal status and mutual respect for all members, regardless of their joining date, to foster collective growth.

We reaffirmed our commitment to supporting all candidates of the Labour Party at every level of the forthcoming elections, recognising that the success of the party depends on collective responsibility, unity of purpose and coordinated action.

To consolidate support and communicate the administration's achievements, the party plans to intensify grassroots sensitization and mobilization efforts. They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting all Labour Party candidates in upcoming elections, stressing the importance of collective responsibility and unity. Assurances were given regarding compensation for individuals impacted by the land acquisition for the Abia Airport, with confidence that eligible beneficiaries will receive their entitlements.

Furthermore, the communiqué addressed the ongoing efforts to resolve electricity challenges in Nsulu, particularly in Umunna Nsulu, expressing optimism for future work commencement. The party also encouraged local indigenes to leverage the state government's empowerment and capacity-building programs, such as TECHRISE and the Abia Leadership Academy. The newly formed committees will focus on empowerment and voter education to implement these resolutions.
