Accord Party backs Adeleke's re-election, calls for neutral election process

The Maxwell Mgbudem-led Accord Party has voiced strong confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election prospects for the upcoming Osun governorship election. The party believes the people's mandate will ultimately prevail, highlighting Adeleke's developmental strides and achievements during his first term as crucial factors.

Joseph Omorogbe, the National Publicity Secretary of the Accord Party, stated in an interview that the party is not intimidated by opposing forces. He asserted that the people of Osun overwhelmingly support Adeleke and the Accord Party. "The level of our preparedness for the Osun election is high and dynamic. The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process with prompt result announcements. Omorogbe emphasized the party's expectation for a transparent election, stating, "Our expectation is for the election to be free, fair and peaceful. Furthermore, the Accord Party warned against any attempts to disrupt the electoral process or intimidate voters. Omorogbe stressed that no political ambition is worth the life of any Osun resident and called on the police and other security agencies to remain neutral and strictly adhere to the rules. The party believes voters will resist any form of malpractice, asserting that "Any foul play in the election will be resisted because the mandate and interest of the people is in Adeleke."
