Aceh Government Grants Civil Servants Flexibility for First Day of School

The provincial government of Aceh has officially provided a work flexibility dispensation for civil servants (ASN) who need to accompany their children on the first day of school, Monday, July 13, 2026. This initiative aligns with a directive from the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucracy to strengthen family resilience.

ASN who have children in early childhood, primary, and secondary education are given flexibility in work hours on that date.

Secretary of Aceh, M. Nasir, confirmed that ASN with children in early childhood, primary, and secondary education will have flexible work hours on this day. The official directive is detailed in a letter from the Aceh Regional Secretary, outlining flexibility in work hours and electronic attendance. While ASN are required to perform electronic attendance, they can do so from their child's school instead of their usual workplace.

Meanwhile, ASN who do not accompany their children must carry out electronic attendance at their respective work units as usual.

To further support this policy, Aceh's government has canceled the morning assembly on July 13, 2026. This aims to allow ASN parents to focus on their children during this significant milestone. All regional heads are tasked with disseminating this policy to their staff. However, Nasir emphasized that public services and government operations must continue without disruption, ensuring that the community's needs are met.
