Indonesian family welfare movement strengthens core programs for 'Golden Indonesia 2045'

Indonesia's national family welfare movement, the Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (TP PKK), is intensifying efforts to bolster its 10 core programs. The goal is to strategically contribute to the nation's vision of "Indonesia Emas 2045," or Golden Indonesia 2045. This overarching theme was central to the 54th anniversary of the PKK's Unity Movement (HKG PKK) held in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Tri Tito Karnavian, the Chairperson of TP PKK, emphasized that the anniversary's theme, "Strengthen the 10 Core PKK Programs, Implement Astacita, Realize Indonesia Emas 2045," underscores the movement's commitment. This commitment directly supports the vision set forth by the President and Vice President of Indonesia. The PKK's role in national development is further solidified by Presidential Regulation No. 99 of 2017 and Home Affairs Ministry Regulation No. 36 of 2020, mandating strategic plans that align with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025-2029.

With a formidable network of 6,364,671 cadres spread across all provinces, the TP PKK possesses a significant social capital. Tri highlighted this vast network as a key asset for accelerating the implementation of government priority programs. She also stressed the importance of enhanced coordination between regional TP PKK bodies and local government agencies (OPD) to ensure PKK programs are integrated into regional planning and budgeting documents, even amidst government budget efficiencies.

To strengthen collaboration, TP PKK signed memorandums of understanding with nine ministries, government agencies, and non-governmental partners during the HKG PKK celebration. Additionally, the movement recognized dedicated cadres with the Adhi Bhakti Utama award for over 25 years of service. The anniversary also marked a MURI record for simultaneous administration of multiple micronutrient supplements to 54,000 pregnant women in South Sulawesi, showcasing the PKK's impact on public health initiatives.
