Actor Alif Hadi channels personal betrayal into role in 'Ikatan Terlarang'

Malaysian actor Alif Hadi has revealed that his portrayal of Rashid in the drama 'Ikatan Terlarang' draws heavily from his own past relationship experiences, particularly betrayal.

Honestly, the character Rashid, I have experienced it myself. So I know how it feels.

Hadi explained that his personal history of being cheated on by a partner made it easier to embody the character's emotional turmoil. "Honestly, the character Rashid, I have experienced it myself. So I know how it feels," he stated.

He further elaborated that many of Rashid's actions reflect things he himself might have wanted to do in the past but couldn't express due to his upbringing. "There are many things Rashid does that are actually things I might have wanted to do myself at one time, but I couldn't express them because of how I was raised," Hadi said.

While Hadi declined to name the individuals involved in his past experience, he emphasized that it has served as inspiration for his acting. He acknowledged that healing from such betrayal is a difficult process, but he views it as a life lesson that makes one more cautious in choosing future partners. Despite lingering trauma, he remains open to building a family, though he admits to still feeling fearful and sometimes withdrawing from potential relationships.
