Actor Momčilo Otašević in tears after unexpected award win on Pelješac Bridge

Montenegrin actor Momčilo Otašević experienced one of the most emotional moments of his career when he received an unexpected phone call while driving across the Pelješac Bridge. The call informed him of his win for best male role at the 14th Festival of Mediterranean and European Film in Trebinje.

Otašević was awarded the Great Charter of Leotar for his portrayal of Maksim Grahovac in the film "Crna truba" (Black Trumpet), directed by Bojan Stijović. He shared the prestigious award with acclaimed actor Zijah Sokolović, who was recognized for his role in the film "Paviljon" (Pavilion).

This is my first award for film.

The actor expressed his deep emotion, noting that this was his first film award after beginning his film auditions fifteen years prior. The presence of his mother, daughter, and aunts at the ceremony in Trebinje, who had traveled from Vilusi, added a profound personal significance to his professional achievement. "This is a beautiful crown for everything, primarily for my parents, and I cried with happiness," Otašević admitted, emphasizing the award's importance on both professional and personal levels.

Otašević also reflected on maintaining energy during demanding work schedules. He believes that the intense rhythm of rehearsals, filming, and travel inherently keeps him in shape. He described a common phenomenon among actors where the body suppresses fatigue and illness during production, only for exhaustion to manifest as colds or other ailments during periods of rest. He strives to channel the energy he invests in his acting career into his private life, ensuring he makes time for his children and loved ones.
