Actor Serhat Kılıç found dead at home in Istanbul

Actor Serhat Kılıç, 51, was found dead at his home in Istanbul’s Kağıthane district after his girlfriend became concerned when he stopped responding to calls.

Özlem E., 50, went to Kılıç’s home in the Nurtepe neighborhood at about 5 p.m. after last hearing from him on Thursday. When he did not answer the door, she used a key to enter and found him motionless in an armchair in the living room.

She called emergency services after noticing that he was not breathing and that his body was cold. Police and medical teams arrived, and medical personnel confirmed that he had died.

Özlem E. told police that Kılıç had lymphoma. Officers informed the relevant units and launched an investigation into his death.

Kılıç had agreed to join the seventh season of the television series “Teşkilat,” but did not attend filming on Sept. 3 because of health problems. He later withdrew from the project after receiving a diagnosis of a herniated disc in his neck.
