Adeleke wins Osun governorship election, secures victory in 19 LGAs

Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor, has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election, securing victory in 19 out of the 30 local government areas. His opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the remaining 11 local government areas.

The results were officially presented by the state's Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation center in Osogbo on Sunday.

Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, demonstrated strong performances in his traditional strongholds, including Ede North, Osogbo, Ede South, Iwo, and Ife East. The APC candidate, Oyebamiji, however, led in several areas where the party traditionally holds significant support, such as Ilesa East, Boripe, and Irepodun.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) generally recorded considerably lower vote counts across the local government areas, with its strongest showing being 5,053 votes in Ejigbo.
