AEK signs Oleksandr Zubkov

Greek football club AEK Athens is nearing its first summer signing, having reached an agreement with Turkish club Trabzonspor for the transfer of 29-year-old Ukrainian winger Oleksandr Zubkov. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the deal, indicating that Zubkov is expected to sign a four-year contract with AEK.

Zubkov joined Trabzonspor in February 2025 from Shakhtar Donetsk for €6 million, with his contract originally set to run until the summer of 2029. The left-footed player is versatile, capable of playing across attacking midfield positions, but primarily features as a right winger. In this role, he has amassed 219 appearances, scoring 51 goals and providing 51 assists.

Last season, Zubkov had a highly productive campaign with Trabzonspor, recording four goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances. Overall, he contributed 12 goals and 16 assists in 57 games for the Turkish side. He is also a seasoned international, having earned 45 caps and scored three goals for the Ukrainian national team.

Throughout his career, Zubkov has enjoyed significant success, winning four Ukrainian league titles and five Ukrainian Cups. He also secured three league titles and one Cup in Hungary, and most recently, the Turkish Cup last year. His arrival is anticipated to bolster AEK's attacking options.
