Afghanistan to host India for three-match T20I series in Delhi

Afghanistan is set to host India for a three-match T20 International (T20I) cricket series, with all matches scheduled to take place at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi from September 13 to 17. This series is a significant fixture within Afghanistan's Future Tours Program.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has affirmed its dedication to fostering the development of cricket in Afghanistan. Mithun Manhas, President of BCCI, stated the board's commitment to providing Afghan players with high-level competitive opportunities through bilateral cricket. He welcomed the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to India and expressed optimism for a successful series and continued collaboration.

Devajit Saikia, Secretary of BCCI, highlighted the strong cricketing rivalry between India and Afghanistan, noting the popularity of Afghan players among Indian fans. He recalled India hosting Afghanistan's historic first Test in 2018 and emphasized the ongoing development of bilateral engagements across all formats of the game.

This T20I series follows Afghanistan's recent tour of India for a three-match ODI series in June and a T20I series in January 2024.
