African Football Confederation backs Infantino's FIFA Forward Enterprise project

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unanimously backed FIFA President Gianni Infantino's FIFA Forward Enterprise project, signaling support for the "Joint Update" presented by Infantino and Secretary General Mattias Grafström. The decision was announced following a CAF executive committee meeting in Rabat, Morocco.

The FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative had previously faced scrutiny after an investigation by The Times revealed concerns about its governance.

Initially, UEFA, Concacaf, and the AFC rejected Infantino's proposal, while CONMEBOL remained silent. CAF and OFC had stated they would evaluate the proposal. FIFA announced the withdrawal of the initiative on July 31 due to a lack of support from confederations. However, CAF's subsequent endorsement suggests a shift in its position or a focus on specific aspects of the project.
