After Accusations of Hiding Victim Numbers, Pentagon Reveals 100 Soldiers Injured in Iran Attacks

The U.S. Department of Defense has revealed that around 100 American soldiers sustained injuries in the ongoing conflict with Iran over the past two weeks. This information comes after reports, including one from The Washington Post, suggested the Pentagon had been less than transparent about casualty figures.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed the updated numbers, stating that the majority of the recently injured soldiers suffered minor wounds and have already returned to duty. He assured the public that further developments regarding casualty data would be made available through the Department of Defense's online database.

According to the latest figures, a total of 14 U.S. soldiers have been killed and 427 wounded since the conflict erupted on February 28, 2026. The recent wave of injuries accounts for a significant portion of the overall casualties, with roughly a quarter of the hundred newly reported wounded occurring in a single night of Iranian attacks.

In recent weeks, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has intensified its retaliatory strikes, targeting U.S. military assets across several Arab nations. Key locations hit include the Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, as well as Mina Salman Port and Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain. The Pentagon also confirmed that two of the three U.S. soldiers killed in an Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan on July 17, 2026, were identified as Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Hawaii, and Private Isabella Gonzalez, 19, from Texas.
